How does it work?


Crew chat is an in-app messaging feature that allows you to contact the crew on your flights and also your friends in the app without having to give up your phone number.


This allows you to keep the entire crew updated with information about your trip, changes to van times, coordinate what you are doing on layovers, or anything else that might be useful on your trip.


To start a Crew Chat, just tap to expand your leg and view your Crew List. Tap on the Crew Chat button and then select which crew members that you want to include in the chat. This works the same for inbound and outbound flights by tapping on the tail number for a flight on your schedule (useful for lost & found, etc).


You can also create a chat on the Friends page by tapping on a friend.


Checkmarks: 1 checkmark means that it was sent (although not necessarily that it was received). 2 checkmarks means that it was read.

How do I turn off notifications?

For individual chats, you can long-press on a chat and select to mute it.


For all chats:


Apple: This is handled in the device's Settings app (gear icon) under FC View > Notifications. Note, though, that turning off notifications will also disable Delay Watch and Crew Assistant notifications that include important info that may affect your flights.


Android: This is also handled in the device's Settings app (gear icon) under Apps > Flight Crew View > Notifications. However, you can disable just the Crew Chat category in the Categories option toward the bottom of that page. Note that the Delay Watch messages about Ground Delay Programs and Ground Stops are delivered via the Crew Chat, so disabling this will also disable the Delay Watch. It will not, however, affect the Crew Assistant notifications.

How do I block or mute a person or chat group?


The app is not set up to completely block somebody. However, you can mute them. This will prevent any notifications from being generated for a particular chat. 


Here's how you can do it:


Go to the app's menu and select Crew Chat. Long-press on the chat that you want to mute and select the "Mute" option. This will prevent notifications from getting pushed to your device.

Messages are blank


Option 1 - Reset the Crew Chat


  1. Open the app and go to the menu > Settings.
  2. Scroll down and expand the Crew Chat section.
  3. Tap on Reset/Reload Crew Chat and accept the warning.
  4. Open the crew chat and see if your messages reload.


Option 2 - Logout/Login


  1. Open the app and go to the menu > Settings.
  2. Expand the Flight Crew View Account section.
  3. Tap on the red "Logout" option.
  4. Log back in with your email/password (or one of the "Continue with..." buttons).
  5. Continue as a crewmember and enter your Flica login.
