How does it work?
Your schedule includes a phone number for your hotel. We match up that phone number with the hotel and then display the information.
Some of the information is not editable (the vitals like the name, address, website, stuff like that). However, all of the amenities are editable and are all curated by other crews. See the section below for How to edit the hotel amenities if you find something you think others might like to know about.
Some hotels don't have all of the info
We receive some of the hotel vitals from Google (photos, address, website, things like that). While we try to keep those updated, new hotels need to be manually added. We do this once a month or every few months, but there are so many hotels (and this info is pricey), that we only focus on the more frequently used hotels.
With that said, please don't hesitate to reach out if you think we should add that information about a specific hotel (see Contact Us below).
How to edit the hotel amenities
The hotel amenities are part of the crew-editable portion of the hotel information page. Next to the "Amenities" title, if you tap on "EDIT," you can add or change that information yourself if you have time. This helps out other crew members and helps keep that info current!
The app is showing the wrong hotel
One possible reason is that the hotels in our database are arranged by phone number. Sometimes, airlines use a placeholder when a hotel hasn't been assigned yet. These placeholders can be something like (000) 000-0000 or 123-4567. However, we've identified most of these placeholder hotels and marked them as such.
Another reason is that international phone numbers can get cut off, which may result in the app displaying a different hotel that shares the same first 9 or 10 numbers.
Lastly, hotels can change affiliations and have a different name. In this case, the app may still display the old name of the hotel.
In the meantime, if you know where you are staying, you can use the Hotel Lookup page to go to the Hotel page for a specific hotel. Just type in the 3-letter airport code for your layover and select the hotel.
Either way, if you find one of these hotels, please report them to us via the Contact Developer option in the app or at support@flightcrewview.com
The app isn't showing any hotel at all
This can happen if you don't have a hotel assigned along with a hotel phone number in your schedule in Flica. If the phone number for a hotel is missing, then the app isn't really sure where you are staying at.
In some cases, if there is a fairly unique name on your schedule, but no phone, we can still figure out the hotel, so let us know.
Otherwise, once the phone number is listed on your schedule, then the app will be able to show it.
In the meantime, if you know where you are staying, you can use the Hotel Lookup page to go to the Hotel page for a specific hotel. Just type in the 3-letter airport code for your layover and select the hotel.
