How it works
A free, 60-day, full-feature trial is started when you first sign up to use the app. When the trial (or subscription, if you cancelled) has expired, the app will guide you to the Subscription page on your next schedule refresh.
Alternatively, you can just go into the app's menu > Settings, expand the Subscription/Gift Code section, and tap on Subscription Info. You can sign up on that page.
After you subscribe, your subscription will be renewed until you cancel it under your Google Play Store or Apple App Store account.
NOTE: Uninstalling the app does NOT stop the subscription. You must also cancel the subscription if you are finished using the app.
Free trial extension
Sometimes 60 days just isn't enough, especially if you signed up in the middle of ground school and it's taking time to get through IOE. No problem at all! Just send us an email and we'll send you a code for a free month in the trial period.
Is this payment on my statement from Flight Crew View?
Payments are handled by Google and Apple depending on the device that you purchased it on. You can check your current subscriptions and payment history here:
More help: View your purchase history for the App Store
How do I cancel/manage my subscription?
Payments are handled by Google and Apple depending on the device that you purchased it on. You can manage or cancel your subscription here:
More help: How to see or cancel your Apple subscription
If you can't find your subscription, check out the next section below: I can't find my subscription/can't cancel
I can't find my subscription/can't cancel
Your subscription is managed by Google (Android) or Apple (iOS). See the links in How do I cancel/manage my subscription above.
If you don't see the subscription, it may have been purchased under a different Google Account/Apple ID account.
You should be receiving receipt emails to the email that the purchase was under (also indicating whether it was on Google or Apple), so you can search for those in your email to try to find the account.
If you think it may have been purchased on a work device under your work email, then you should still be able to log into your Google or Apple account under those old emails (you just won't be able to recover your password if you've moved on).
As a last resort, you can dispute the charge with your bank, but this will lead to problems with your Google/Apple account as they will usually restrict your account if you choose this method. Before you do this, though, reach out to us at email@example.com . We can't do much, but in some cases, we can help.
How do I update my payment method?
Payments are handled by Google and Apple depending on the device that you purchased it on. You can manage or update your payment method here:
I'm getting errors when I try to subscribe
This is nearly always due to issues with the payment method that is on file. In some cases, Google or Apple will follow up with an email about what happened and how to fix it.
If you don't get that email, though, in nearly all cases, it's just an issue with the payment method that's on file. Try removing your payment method entirely and then add it back. See How do I update my payment method? above for more info.
Why was my subscription canceled?
In nearly all cases, though, it's usually just an expired payment method or some other payment issue and the payment method just needs to be updated.
My subscription isn't showing up?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google. If you are sure that you got all the way through the purchase process in the app, but it still isn't registering, try the Restore Purchase button at the bottom of the Subscription page in the app.
If you are just seeing a blank schedule in the app, it might just need a full-schedule refresh to update. Try refreshing and see if it gets updated.
If it still isn't showing up, double check the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to see if the purchase went through. You can check your current subscriptions on your device here:
More help: How to see or cancel your Apple subscription
Why is my Carrier Billing not working?
Carrier Billing is an option offered by Apple and Google as forms of payment. However, there are restrictions on when and where you can use them, both by Google/Apple, and also by your mobile carrier. Check out these links to see if Carrier Billing is allowed.
Also, check with your carrier to see if your account is eligible.
If you need to update your payment method, see How do I update my payment method? above.
Does my family need a subscription to see my schedule?
Nope. Flight Crew View is free to friends and family members (as long as they are not also a crew member). They just need to set up their own account under their own email and the app will guide them to the Friends page. See below for more.
See this page for more info:
Do you accept any payment method other than Google/Apple?
We accept all kinds of different payment methods. Unfortunately, though, Google and Apple require developers to make all purchases through them if we don't offer a service outside of the app.
If you are worried about privacy or security, another option would be to use a Visa or MasterCard gift card (or Google Play or Apple gift cards). These can usually be found in most big box stores, grocery stores, CVS/Walgreens, gas stations, etc.
See these links for the types of payment methods accepted:
We can help cancel Android subscriptions, but Apple doesn't give us that option. We can still help on both platforms, though. If you have any other questions or can't find the subscription, please send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
